Структура міського політичного режиму є достатньо складною та багатомірною. Вона визначається співвідношенням істеблішменту міста та опозиційних до нього сил та впливів. Унікальний простір міського політичного режиму створюється шляхом конституювання міської влади, що має або централізований, або дискретний характер. Відносна свобода та автономія суб’єктів політичного та економічного інтересів - виключна прерогатива міста на всіх етапах його становлення та власне у всіх основних варіаціях.
