Redewendungen in Englischen Technischen Texten

Abstract

The article substantiates the relevance of the problem of the study devoted to the coverage of the issues of phraseology and standardization of speech, in particular the description of structural, semantic and functional characteristics of phraseological units used in the Englishlanguage technical communication. The main types of phraseological constructions, including clichés, metaphorical units and established phrases, as well as methods of their rendering in technical discourse, are characterized. The object of the research is defined as phraseological units in the aspect of their functioning in English scientific and technical texts, while the subject is termed as strategies, tactics and operations of rendering the English phraseological units under investigation into Ukrainian. The scientific novelty lies in a comprehensive study of phraseological units regarding their functional load, frequency of use and translation difficulties. The study emphasizes the importance of the correct use of established expressions to achieve accuracy and effectiveness of professional communication. Technical texts are characterized by a high level of standardization, which leads to the widespread use of phraseological units such as "verbal pattern". The use of such constructions facilitates the translation, but requires the translator to pay attention to the context, stylistic norms and functional equivalence. The main task of a translator of technical literature is to maintain terminological accuracy and a formal-neutral style. У статті обґрунтовано актуальність проблеми дослідження, присвяченого висвітленню питань фразеології та стандартизації мовлення, зокрема опису структурних, семантичних і функціональних характеристик фразеологізмів, які використовуються в англомовному технічному спілкуванні. Схарактеризовано основні типи фразеологічних конструкцій, у тому числі кліше, метафоричні одиниці та усталені словосполучення, а також способи їх передачі в технічному дискурсі. Об'єктом дослідження визначено фразеологізми в аспекті їхнього функціонування в англійських науково-технічних текстах, а предметом – стратегії, тактики та операції перекладу досліджуваних англійських фразеологізмів українською мовою. Наукова новизна полягає в комплексному вивченні фразеологізмів щодо їхнього функціонального навантаження, частоти вживання та труднощів перекладу. У дослідженні наголошується на важливості правильного використання усталених виразів для досягнення точності та ефективності професійного спілкування. Технічним текстам властивий високий рівень стандартизації, що призводить до широкого використання таких фразеологізмів, як «словесний зразок». Використання подібних конструкцій полегшує переклад, але вимагає від перекладача уваги до контексту, стилістичних норм і функціональної еквівалентності. Основним завданням перекладача технічної літератури є дотримання термінологічної точності та формально-нейтрального стилю.
