Abstract

After a long nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula, the world awaits for sharp changes in the direction of detente. Kim 5ong Un has completed a difficult plan for national nuclear weapons and North Korea became the ninth nuclear power de facto. Of course, tough sanctions by the international community and isolation from the outside world influenced the change in his strategy. Kim 5ong Un, having achieved the desired result, now directs all efforts to release sanctions and focus on achieving economic results by attracting foreign investment and in- novative technologies. The United States and Donald Trump also understand that sanctions, whatever they are, are long-term processes, and resolving the issue by military means is also far from the best solution. Therefore, the forthcoming summits of the RK – the DPRK, the United States – the DPRK should play a key role in unleashing the most difficult Korean problem. Before the RK – DPRK summit on April 27, 2018, and the United States – North Korea summit in late of May, 2018 the unofficial consultations of the RK – the USA, the USA – 5apan, the PRC – DPRK, DPRK – Russia are going on. All the factors say about the great importance of the upcoming summits. Naturally, such important countries as China, Russia, 5apan, which, are the main actors of the Korean problem, as before, play an important role in the upcoming high-level negotiation.
