Abstract: The article analyzes the problem of the formation and development of political systems in post-Soviet countries. An analysis of vocabulary and reference literature has been carried out. As a result of this analysis, the basic meaning of the concept “system” is determined. In connection with the problem, which is disclosed in the article – an analysis of scientific views on the concept of “political system” is presented. The peculiarities of the formation of the political system in Ukraine, as well as the peculiarities of the development of political systems in Belarus and Turkmenistan, are revealed. Some features of the formation of the political system in post-Soviet Ukraine are singled out: 1. A system with a relatively low pace of social processes and a lack of perceptibility of social news. 2. Centralization with some elements of regionalization and decentralization. 3. The political system of modern Ukraine operates in an extraordinary, rather than normal, political and social situation. 4. Surface stability of the system (rapid transformation into instability through deepening of conflicts between the main political blocs, including within the state government). As a result of the analysis, certain conclusions were made. First, the notion of “political sys- tem” is sufficiently studied in socio-human sciences, and modern political literature focuses on the various aspects of the functioning of the political system. Secondly, the structure of political systems in post-Soviet countries is the same elements (political relations, political organization of society, mass media, political principles and norms, political consciousness and culture).
