Abstract: У статті проаналізовано стан проблеми виховання у дошкільників навичок здорового способу життя. На-голошено, що сьогодні здоров’я потрібно не стільки повертати, скільки змалку виховувати у кожної людини усталені звички і потребу здорового способу життя. Констатовано, що виховання навичок здорового способу життя пов’язують із навчальним предметом – валеологією, який покликаний готувати до життя, виховувати необхідність піклуватися про своє власне здоров’я, здоров’я інших та здоров’я майбутнього покоління. .In the national doctrine of education development in Ukraine in the 21st century youth’s health care, instilling the culture of healthy lifestyle are determined as the priority missions. Accordingly, the problem of human health is the subject of researches in many fields of sciences. Special attention is paid to the fact that health should not be restored, but kept by means of instilling healthy habits since the early childhood. The article deals with the state of a problem of instilling healthy behaviors in children. International experience demonstrates that preparation for the healthy lifestyle can be carried out in two ways. The first one is going on spontaneously and unconsciously by following certain forms and accepted standards of conduct and lifestyle, dominant in society. The second one is a purposeful and conscious way of creating one’s own system of life activity, based on respectful attitude towards one’s own health. It is associated with valeological education. Valeology as a subject is aimed at preparing children for future life in society, fostering the ne-cessity to take care of one’s own and other people’s health, as well as future generations’ health. Modern educational system faces the important task of decreasing negative influence of pedagogical process on personality’s health, active instilling the desire to harmonize with itself and the environment. Unfortunately, valeology as a significant direction of forming, keeping and strengthening children’s health is not of a great importance in the educational system and in work of preschool educational institutions. Children’s health state in Ukraine remains in critical condition; and valeology as an integrative branch of special knowledge system should play into the general system of education of preschoolers. The prospects of further research are aimed at substantiating the necessity of preparing competent valeologists for instil-ling healthy behaviors in children. A competent valeologist must not only conduct lessons of “Healthy lifestyle” (Vale-ology), but also be able to reorganize the educational process and the whole educational environment to make it pro-mote healthy lifestyle to both children and pedagogues.
