Популізм Д. Трампа: контент, витоки, специфіка в політичному дискурсі США

Abstract

The surge of populism as a mechanism of influence on voters or counteraction to opponents at the level of political elites both in democratic countries and countries moving along the path of democracy (on the example of Ukraine) in modern times, has turned the phenomenon of populism into one of the most actively studied topics of modern humanities. In the field of research of the authors – both general aspects of populism in the modern political process, and its specific manifestations, which leads to interest upon the activities of individual representatives of this phenomenon. A particularly typical example of a populist demagogue is former US President D. Drump, what leads to scientific interest to this person in the general dimension of understanding populism and its role in American political discourse. The article analyzes the most characteristic positions of D. Trump’s rhetoric as a candidate for the US presidency and already elected head of state; the essential content of Trump’s rhetoric as a manifestation of right-wing populism; some of the most characteristic methods of influence of the President on the audience as a demagogue politician. Among the research directions of the article is the analysis of the origins of D. Trump’s political rhetoric in respect of the retrospective of the development of populism in the United States; the social base of supporters of the populist politician, as well as the specifics of D. Trump’s populism according the peculiarities of the political discourse of the United States. It is argued in the article that the election of D. Trump as president has become the result of the growing dissatisfaction of a large part of citizens with the policies of previous American administrations; the ability of a demagogue politician to influence the audience with extraordinary behavior, charisma, as well as populist promises that found demand in a certain social environment of Americans. It is substantiated a connection between D. Trump’s populist rhetoric and the historical traditions of American right-wing populism which is based on the proven experience of manipulating an audience prone to radical or unconventional positions in the context of contradictory development of social problems. Сплеск популізму як механізму впливу на виборців або протидії опонентам на рівні політичних еліт як в демократичних країнах, так і країнах, що рухаються шляхом демократії (на прикладі України) в умовах найновітнього часу, перетворило феномен популізму на одну з найбільш активно досліджуваних тем сучасних гуманітарних наук. В полі дослідження авторів – як загальні аспекти популізму в сучасному політичному процесі, так і його конкретизовані прояви, що зумовлює інтерес до діяльності окремих представників даного явища. Особливо типовим прикладом популіста-демагога є експрезидент США Д. Трамп, що зумовлює науковий інтерес до цієї особи в загальному вимірі осмислення популізму і його ролі в американському політичному дискурсі. В статті проаналізовано найбільш характерні позиції риторики Д. Трампа як кандидата в президенти США і вже обраного глави держави; визначено сутнісний зміст риторики Трампа як прояву правого популізму; визначено деякі найбільш характерні прийоми впливу президента на аудиторію як політика-демагога. Серед дослідницького напряму статті – й аналіз витоків політичної риторики Д. Трампа з урахуванням ретроспективи розвитку популізму в США; соціальної бази прихильників політика –популіста, а також специфіки популізму Д. Трампа відповідно до особливостей політичного дискурсу Сполучених Штатів. В статті стверджується, що обрання Д. Трампа президентом стало наслідком зростаючого невдоволення значною частиною громадян політикою попередніх американських адміністрацій; вміння політика-демагога впливати на аудиторію неординарною поведінкою, харизмою, а також популістськими обіцянками, які знаходили попит в певному соціальному середовищі американців. Доводиться також зв’язок популістської риторики Д. Трампа з історичними традиціями американського популізму правого крила, в основі якого – апробований досвід маніпулювання аудиторією, схильною до радикальних або нетрадиційних позицій в умовах суперечливого розвитку суспільних проблем.
