Abstract

The charisma of the life and ideas of the leading Ukrainian philosopher Hryhoriy Savych Skovoroda always maintain a high level of interest on the part of researchers in Ukraine and in the world, inspiring them to new interpretations. At the same time, in the context of the jubilee commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the thinker’s birth, it is appropriate to turn to the retrospective Skovoroda Studies, where one can find a lot of insufficiently known, but valuable scientific material. In this view, the interpretation of the role and meaning of the thinker on the pages of the main periodical of the first unofficial Ukrainian Academy of Sciences – the Shevchenko Scientific Society, which is also approaching its 150th anniversary, deserves special attention. Therefore, the subject of the article is the publications connected with Skovoroda in the ‘Proceedings of the Shevchenko Scientific Society’ for the entire period of its existence. The novelty and topicality of the present research constitutes their holistic analysis that was conducted for the first time. The purpose of the article is to highlight the ideological and conceptual orientation of scientific materials of various genres dedicated to H. Skovoroda, which appeared in print in the ‘Proceedings of the Shevchenko Scientific Society’ during the late 19th and early 21st centuries. The task is to single out and analyze the theoretical and worldview, as well as methodological approaches used by the authors in understanding the personality and legacy of the prominent thinker. The methods applied are the following: structural, analysis, system, generalization and semiotic methods. The following results were achieved: the number of thematic publications about H. Skovoroda in the ‘Proceedings of the Shevchenko Scientific Society’ during 1894–2019 was determined for the first time, and they were systematized according to genre features and methodological approaches. Emphasis is placed on the non-accidental chronological continuity of Skovoroda Studies in this periodical. The realization by all the authors of different periods and generations of the exceptional role and unique importance of H. Skovoroda’s ideological heritage, primarily for the identity of Ukrainian cultural and spiritual existence and national philosophical culture, is substantiated herein. Using the example of the analysis of selected publications by V. Doroshenko, S. Yefremov, M. Fediushka, and others the ideological and conceptual integrity of Skovoroda Studies in the ‘Proceedings of the Shevchenko Scientific Society’ has been proved. The important intellectual contribution of the Shevchenko Scientific Society to the development of Skovoroda Studies is emphasized in the present article. It is argued that the activity of this scientific institution and the philosophical ideas expressed by H. Skovoroda are relevant to the processes of national revival, civic unity and solidarity of the Ukrainian nation in the past and present. Харизма життя й ідей чільного українського філософа Григорія Савича Сковороди незмінно зберігають високий рівень зацікавленості з боку дослідників в Україні та світі, надихаючи їх на нові інтерпретації. Водночас в контексті ювілейного відзначення 300-ої річниці від народження мислителя доречно звернутися до ретроспективної сковородіани, серед якої чимало недостатньо відомого, але цінного наукового матеріалу. Під цим оглядом заслуговує окремої уваги трактування ролі й значення мислителя на сторінках головного періодичного видання першої неофіційної української Академії Наук – Наукового товариства імені Шевченка, яке також наближається до свого 150-річчя. Тому предметом статті є сковородинська тематика публікацій в «Записках НТШ» за весь час їхнього існування. Вперше проведений їх цілісний аналіз складає актуальність та новизну пропонованої розвідки. Мета статті – висвітлити ідейно-концептуальну спрямованість різножанрових наукових матеріалів, присвячених Г. Сковороді, що з'явилися друком у періодичному виданні «Записки Наукового Товариства імені Шевченка» впродовж кінця ХІХ – початку ХХІ ст. Поставлено завдання – виокремити та проаналізувати теоретично-світоглядні й методологічні підходи, використані авторами при осмисленні особистості й спадщини визначного мислителя. Застосовано методи: структурний, аналізу, системний, узагальнення, семіотичний. Досягнуті такі результати: уперше з’ясовано кількість тематичних публікацій про Г. Сковороду у «Записках НТШ» впродовж 1894–2019 рр. та систематизовано їх за жанровими ознаками й методологічними підходами. Наголошено на невипадковій хронологічній тяглості сковородіани у цьому періодичному виданні. Обґрунтовано усвідомлення усіма авторами різних періодів та поколінь виняткової ролі та унікального значення ідейного спадку Г. Сковороди, насамперед для самобутності українського культурно-духовного буття й національної філософської культури. На прикладі аналізу вибраних публікацій В. Дорошенка, С. Єфремова, М. Федюшка та ін. доведено ідейно-концептуальну цілісність сковородіани у «Записках НТШ». Підкреслено важливий інтелектуальний внесок НТШ у розвиток сковородинських студій. Арґументовано смислову відповідність діяльності цієї наукової інституції й філософських настанов Г. Сковороди процесам національного відродження, громадянської соборності та солідарності української нації в минулому й сьогоденні.
