Сатиричне відображення теми тоталітарної влади в серії офортів В. Єфименка до роману М. Булгакова «Майстер і Маргарита»

Abstract

У статті досліджено серію офортів одеського графіка Віктора Єфименка (1933–1994), створених ним як станкові ілюстрації до роману Михайла Булгакова «Майстер і Маргарита» (1978–1992). Показано, що художник, як і автор роману, зображує тоталітарну владу у двох часових вимірах: Римської імперії та Радянського Союзу, що підкреслює її позачасовий характер. Ця тема була актуальною для художника, який жив за часів комуністичної влади. Доведено, що художня спорідненість творчості Булгакова і Єфименка дозволила створити сатиричну картину радянської влади та тогочасного суспільства в цілому. Зазначено, що важливими засобами поетики для обох митців стали іронія, сатирична гіпербола та гротеск. Графіці майстра притаманний полістилізм. Створюючи образ епохи, художник використовує композиційні прийоми, характерні для плаката, фотографії, кінематографа 1920–1930-х років. The graphic arts of Odessa in the last quarter of the twentieth century covera special place on the easel graphic sheets of Viktor Efi menko (1933–1994) to the novel by Mikhail Bulgakov “Master and Margarita” (1928–1940). The refl ections of the artist coincided with the views and thoughts of Bulgakov and were refl ected in the grandiose graphic series of 64 etchings, which was created in 1978–1992. V. Efi menko approached the depicted plot not only as an artist, but as a thinker who was refl ecting the same problems as the writer. Signifi cant place in the famous novel by M. Bulgakov “Master and Margarita” takes a satirical depiction of the life of Muscovites in the 1930’s. Describing pictures of Soviet reality, the writer tried to comprehend not only contemporary socio-political problems, but also such “eternal” issues for humanity as the relationship between the artist and the crowd, the role of personality in history, power and people. The Odessa master became one of the discoverers of the Bulgakov’s world in art illustration. He decided to undertake a pre-disadvantageous topic that at that time was impossible to present a wide spectrum of spectators. However, from the standpoint of the present, this topic looks more and more relevant. Efi menko was interested in the writer’s thoughts about power, both Soviet and Roman. The artist, as well as M. Bulgakov, brilliantly and wittily shows the numerous shortcomings of the “happy” Soviet reality: bureaucracy, double morality, love for slander. The etchings have distinctive features of the grotesque and social satire.
