Abstract: The article presents features of the handbook and their connections with the fundamental theories of brain compatible learning. Through this, the usefulness of handbooks in education of the youngest children has been shown, including the most important element that determines learning — the activity. It is indi cated, that constructing handbooks and teachers’ instructional design still need improvement. The content proposed in the textbooks and their concentric-linear layout divided into individual classes give the teacher a certain security that in re lation to each student, the content of the core curriculum has been implemented. However, it is important that the teacher, when designing classes in which improvement should always be included, adheres most faithfully to one principle — the student’s activity.
