Українська національна ментальність: ціннісні зрушення в умовах сучасності

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of the Ukrainian national mentality, its essential characteristics and the vector of value shifts in modern conditions using axiological methodology and based on the data of long-term domestic and international empirical studies from 1991 to 2021. National mentality is defined as a complex of individual or collective ideas, values, attitudes, archetypes, stereotypes, which are formed as a result of the historically long and fairly stable influence of various factors and circumstances (natural-geographical, ethnic, socio-economic, religious, cultural). Some features of the national value mentality of the citizens of Ukraine were analyzed based on the sociological research data of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 1992–2021, and conclusions were drawn about the strengthening of the importance of traditional values that ensure safety, survival and social comfort, and the constant growth in importance of values that associated with solidarity and strengthening of social ties. The analysis of the results of the International World Values Survey (WVS) 2015–2020 made it possible to conclude that the Ukrainian national mentality in terms of its value component is a European mentality, that is, it has similar mental and spiritual orientations to the mentality of the inhabitants of Europe, a high value and awareness of the importance of freedom, democracy. The need for further development of methodological and methodical approaches to the study of the phenomenon of the Ukrainian national mentality, identifying the state of value shifts in the value mentality, which ensure the modernization of spiritual life and value-normative changes in modern Ukrainian society, is emphasized. Стаття присвячена дослідженню феномена української національної ментальності, її сутнісних характеристик та вектору ціннісних зрушень в умовах сучасності за допомогою використання аксіологічної методології та на основі даних довготривалих вітчизняних та міжнародних емпіричних досліджень 1991–2021 рр. Національну ментальність визначено як комплекс індивідуальних чи колективних уявлень, цінностей, установок, архетипів, стереотипів, які складаються в результаті історично тривалого і досить стійкого впливу різних чинників і обставин (геополітичних, суспільних, природно-географічних, культурних, етнічних, соціально-економічних, релігійних). Проаналізовано деякі особливості національної ціннісної ментальності громадян України на основі даних соціологічних досліджень Інституту соціології НАН України 1992–2021 рр. та зроблено висновки про посилення значущості традиційних цінностей, які забезпечують безпеку, виживання та соціальний комфорт, та постійне зростання за своєю важливістю цінностей, які пов’язані із солідаризацією та зміцненням соціальних зв’язків. Аналіз результатів Міжнародного дослідження World Values Survey (WVS) 2015–2020 років дозволив зробити висновок, що українська національна ментальність за своєю ціннісною складовою є європейською ментальністю, тобто має схожі з ментальністю жителів Європи ментально-духовні орієнтації, високу цінність та усвідомлення важливості свободи та демократії. Наголошено на необхідності подальшої розробки методологічних та методичних підходів до дослідження феномену української національної ментальності, виявлення стану ціннісних зрушень у ціннісній ментальності, які забезпечують модернізацію духовного життя та ціннісно-нормативних змін у сучасному українському суспільстві.
