Abstract: This article reviews the issues of the regional political processes in the light of the new developments that have occurred in recent years in the region and around the world. The analysis is conducted on a broad background of a historical overview of the nature of the relationship between the countries of the region and the world's leading powers. It is noted that each of these countries, and namely, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, has the opportunity to enter a new level of relations due to its socio-economic status and the level of achieved democracy and openness in the activities of political structures. At the same time, there are a number of factors, both foreign and domestic, that affect the political processes in the South Caucasus. There is a great potential for the development of friendly partnership relations, but a large burden of historical mistakes and pressure from the strong countries in the region does not allow it to happen.
