Cultural differences have a huge impact on communication and are even more important when it comes to learning a foreign language during higher education. Language is comprehended through culture, so the latter is an important element of the process of learning it. Based on this, the phrases "intercultural" or "cross-cultural" (a set of skills that allow a person to communicate effectivelly with someone from a different culture [5]) competence today are the key concepts of Ukrainian linguistics and linguodidactics of the late 20th and early 21st centuries (F. Batsevich, A. Gudmanyan, P. Donets, V. Manakin, L. Morska, A. Palchikova, O. Pryshlyak, I. Tomashevskaya, N. Ushakova), fully consistent with the dominant trends in foreign science [see review 1: 62–65]. Due to the quickly increasing pace of globalization and informatization, which have been transforming the world for more than a decade, intercultural competence is becoming an increasingly important component of the content of language education every day. At the moment, there is already a sufficient number of various pedagogical technologies in the methodological arsenal: some are ideal for establishing correct pronunciation, some are well suited for replenishing vocabulary and developing grammatical skills, some for the formation of communicative competence, etc. [3].uk
