| Abstract: | An important step of the linguistic analysis of the written monuments is the determination of the semantic load of the proper names (anthroponyms, ethnonyms, toponyms) in the text. It is quite revealing that often ancient authors themselves resort to etymologization of some unclear proper names, if it is necessary for the correct understanding of the provided data related to the geographical and ethnographic nature. |
