Порівняння цинічних та нецинічних осіб за впевненістю в собі

Abstract

This article presents the results of the empirical studies onthe self-assertion of cynic and non-cynic individuals. This paper examines different approaches to the interpretation of the concepts, such as "cynicism", "cynicalness" and "self-assertion". If the cynicism is investigated by many authors in a proper way, the cynicalness, as a stable property of an individual (tendency to cynicism, cynical behavior, etc.), is substantially less studied. The analysis of the psychological literature has shown that some authors have studied the relationship between the "cynicism" and the "cynicalness" and identified them with some differences noted. It is theoretically established that the cynicism is the outright neglect of generally accepted standards of morality, as well as the impudent shameless behavior. "The cynicalness" is a rather stable personality trait manifested in shameless, even brazen, behavior (incontinence, unscrupulousness, immorality, shamelessness, etc.), accompanied by negative thoughts and considerations towards other people (distrust of others, rejection of the other position, disdainful thoughts) and specific feelings and emotions (barefaced attitude towards others, annoyance, disgust, anger, aggression, etc.). Cтаття презентує результати емпіричного дослідження впевненості в собі осіб, які відрізняються ступенем схильності до прояву цинічності. У статті розглянуто різні підходи до трактування понять "цинізм", "цинічність", "впевненість в собі". Встановлено, що цинічних особистостей характеризує загальна впевненість в собі, середня соціальна сміливість, ініціативність, активність, комунікабельність, схильність до ризику, задоволеність рівнем своїх навичок, здібностей та можливостей. Встановлено, що найвищий показник загальної впевненості в собі мають особистості, схильні до прояву цинічності. Найвищі показники ініціативи в соціальних контактах − особистості, які не схильні до прояву цинічності. Найбільш соціально сміливими у рамках вибірки є особистості зі схильністю до прояву цинічності.
