Використання інтернет-сайтів на заняттях з іноземної мови

Abstract

У статті розглянуті можливості використання Інтернет-сайтів у вивченні іноземних мов. Визначено роль електронних засобів інформатизації для підвищення мотивації та пізнавальної активності студентів. Детально описана структура навчального сайту «Breaking News English Lessons: Easy English News / Current Events». Охарактеризовано умови, за яких використання навчального сайту принесе найбажаніший результат. Вказано переваги та недоліки застосування інформаційних технологій на заняттях з іноземної мови.«Breaking News English Lessons: Easy English News / Current Events».The article deals with a problem of the effective usage of internet resources while teaching foreign languages to students. Nowadays the main task of the teaching process is improving motivation and cognitive activity of students. In terms of rapid information technologies development in education the requirements to teachers are growing as well, and the main indicator of teacher’s professionalism is his/her readiness to perform innovative pedagogical activity by means of using information technologies. Such facilities as smart-boards, internet programs, internet sites, scientific movies at the lessons of foreign languages are the best solution of the above mentioned problems. The article is aimed at review-ing advantages of Internet sites usage while teaching foreign languages to students. The internet site “Breaking News English Lessons: Easy English News | Current Events” is suggested as an efficient tool of foreign language teaching and studying. The educational sites for learning foreign languages propose a number of different authentic texts for reading and listening to, provide an opportunity to communicate with native speakers. Such websites create natural language environ-ment and positive atmosphere. In such a way psychological barriers and fear of making mistakes gradually disappear. Besides,learning material is better perceived and easily remembered by students through the combination of texts, graphics, audio record-ings, video files and pictures. The review proves the advantages of using the educational site “Breaking News English Lessons: Easy English News | Current Events” as it includes a great number of free online lessons, which are constantly being updated; the learning materials are based on current events from all over the world; all the lessons are grouped under the headings and have different difficulty levels corresponding to CEFR; printable versions of all the working materials and mini-lessons are available; the main types of speech activity are represented. Such a kind of training will help students to easily reproduce the material of a lesson and obtain significant experience of culture dialogue. It is worth noting that a teacher should combine traditional methods of teaching foreign languages with using interactive learning websites for achieving the best results.
