Особливості реалізації синтаксичних зв’язків в українських художніх текстах та їх перекладах англійською мовою: зіставний аспект

Abstract

У статті здійснено зіставний аналіз особливостей реалізації синтаксичних зв’язків у текстах українських художніх творів та їх перекладах. Матеріалом дослідження слугують різножанрові українські літературні твори ХІХ століття – роман П. Куліша «Чорна рада» та поеми Т. Шевченка «Гайдамаки» і «Гамалія», а також їхні англомовні переклади. Актуальність студії зумовлена необхідністю поглибленого вивчення синтаксичної організації художнього тексту у зв’язку з проблемами міжмовної інтерпретації та перекладацької еквівалентності. Крім того, до зіставного аналізу синтаксичної структури творів історичної тематики та їх англійських перекладацьких інтерпретацій науковці не зверталися, хоча саме синтаксична організація, на нашу думку, є одним із засобів створення етнокультурного фону художньої оповіді, аналіз якої допомагає розкрити прагматичну спрямованість художнього тексту. The article presents a contrastive analysis of the features of syntactic relations as realized in Ukrainian literary texts and their translations. The research material comprises Ukrainian literary works of the nineteenth century belonging to different genres, namely P. Kulish’s novel «The Black Council» and T. Shevchenko’s poems «Haidamaky» and «Hamalija», as well as their English translations. The relevance of the study is determined by the need for an in-depth examination of the syntactic organization of literary texts in connection with issues of interlingual interpretation and translation equivalence. Moreover, scholars have not previously addressed a contrastive analysis of the syntactic structure of historical literary works and their English translation interpretations. The main focus is placed on the analysis of types of syntactic relations (coordination, subordination, and asyndetic connection), the specificity of their formal-grammatical and semantic-pragmatic expression, as well as the role of syntactic constructions in creating imagery and expressiveness in literary discourse. The study establishes that Ukrainian literary discourse is characterized by variability of syntactic structures, active use of asyndetic connection, inversion, parcellation, and rhythmized constructions, which is обусловлено by the traditions of national poetics and the folkloric foundation of the texts. In contrast, English translations of Ukrainian literary texts demonstrate a tendency toward greater syntactic orderliness, explicit expression of logical-semantic relations, and a predominance of subordinate constructions.
