Українська модель державно-церковних відносин та її вплив на культурну самоідентифікацію українців

Abstract

У статті здійснюється комплексний політико-філософський та релігієзнавчий аналіз української моделі державно-церковних відносин у контексті її впливу на процеси формування й трансформації культурної самоідентифікації українців у сучасних суспільно-політичних умовах. Державно-церковна взаємодія осмислюється не лише як інституційноправовий механізм регулювання релігійної сфери, але і як важливий соціокультурний чинник, що впливає на символічний простір нації, ціннісні орієнтації та моделі громадянської солідарності. Актуальність дослідження зумовлена глибокими трансформаціями українського суспільства, спричиненими процесами європейської інтеграції, деколонізації історичної пам’яті та повномасштабною збройною агресією Російської Федерації проти України, що актуалізували питання ролі релігійних інституцій у забезпеченні культурного суверенітету, духовної безпеки та національної консолідації. Особливу увагу приділено аналізу ризиків політизації релігії та меж допустимої взаємодії держави й церкви в умовах війни. Метою дослідження є виявлення сутнісних характеристик української моделі державноцерковних відносин, аналіз механізмів її функціонування та визначення напрямів впливу релігійного чинника на процеси культурної самоідентифікації українців. У межах дослідження розглянуто типології моделей державно-церковних відносин, специфіку українського релігійного ландшафту, а також роль релігії як чинника національної ідентичності. Методологічну основу дослідження становлять системний, інституційний, неоінституційний, соціокультурний, цивілізаційний та аксіологічний підходи, а також історико-порівняльний і формально-юридичний методи, що дозволяють розглядати державно-церковні відносини як багатовимірний феномен у його політичному, правовому та культурному вимірах. The article provides a comprehensive philosophical and political analysis of the Ukrainian model of state-church relations and examines its influence on the processes of cultural self-identification of Ukrainians in the context of contemporary socio-political transformations. Religion in Ukraine is interpreted not only as a sphere of individual belief, but also as a significant socio-cultural factor that shapes value orientations, symbolic meanings, and collective identities, particularly under the conditions of war, globalization, and European integration. The relevance of the study is determined by the intensification of interactions between the state and religious institutions amid processes of decolonization of historical memory, the reconfiguration of the religious landscape, and the growing role of churches in social consolidation, civic solidarity, and cultural resistance to external destructive influences. Special attention is paid to the challenges associated with politicization of religion, the preservation of interconfessional harmony, and the safeguarding of freedom of conscience in a pluralistic society. The aim of the study is to analyze the Ukrainian model of state–church relations and to identify the mechanisms through which it influences the formation and transformation of cultural selfidentification of Ukrainians in current socio-political conditions. To achieve this aim, the article examines the conceptual foundations of cultural self-identification, explores the historical prerequisites for the formation of the Ukrainian model of state–church relations, and determines the role of religious institutions in preserving national traditions, historical memory, and symbolic markers of identity. The methodological framework of the research is based on an interdisciplinary combination of political science, religious studies, social philosophy, and cultural studies. The study employs systemic, institutional, neo-institutional, historical-comparative, socio-cultural, civilizational, and axiological approaches, which allow for a holistic analysis of state–church relations as a multilevel social system and for the identification of their value-based and symbolic dimensions.
