The role of visual arts in developing ethnocultural competence of modern school students

Abstract

The integration of Ukraine into the global educational sphere necessitates the exploration of innovative pathways for the development of a modern professional, one who can confidently orient within a multicultural environment and exhibit tolerance toward representatives of different nations, their cultural diversity, and values. Consequently, the problem of cultivating ethnocultural tolerance has gained particular importance in pedagogical science, becoming topical not only in Ukraine but also internationally. This relevance stems, on the one hand, from the intensification of integrative interactions among countries, peoples, and cultures, and on the other hand, from the escalation of destructive tendencies in interstate relations, the outbreak of local wars, conflicts of religious and interethnic origin, aggression, and terrorism. Therefore, it is reasonable to focus attention on effective ways of eliminating destructive attitudes from the educational environment, which are caused by ethnic intolerance, intercultural conflicts, and interethnic barriers. In conclusion, ethnocultural education through art emerges as a vital instrument for cultivating national consciousness and cultural literacy. The integration of ethnocultural traditions into the educational process stimulates creative potential, nurtures patriotic sentiments, and enhances intercultural sensitivity. The application of culture-enriching technologies ensures that art education remains modern, interactive, and deeply connected to the spiritual values of the nation. Інтеграція України у світову освітню сферу вимагає пошуку інноваційних шляхів розвитку сучасного фахівця, який впевнено орієнтується в мультикультурному середовищі та виявляє толерантність до представників різних народів, їхнього культурного розмаїття та цінностей. Отже, проблема виховання етнокультурної толерантності набула особливого значення в педагогічній науці, стаючи актуальною не лише в Україні, а й на міжнародному рівні. Ця актуальність зумовлена, з одного боку, посиленням інтегративних взаємодій між країнами, народами та культурами, а з іншого – ескалацією деструктивних тенденцій у міждержавних відносинах, спалахом локальних війн, конфліктами релігійного та міжетнічного походження, агресією та тероризмом. Тому доцільно зосередити увагу на ефективних способах усунення деструктивних установок з освітнього середовища, що спричинені етнічною нетерпимістю, міжкультурними конфліктами та міжетнічними бар'єрами. етнокультурна освіта через мистецтво постає як життєво важливий інструмент для розвитку національної свідомості та культурної грамотності. Інтеграція етнокультурних традицій в освітній процес стимулює творчий потенціал, розвиває патріотичні почуття та підвищує міжкультурну чутливість. Застосування технологій, що збагачують культуру, гарантує, що мистецька освіта залишається сучасною, інтерактивною та глибоко пов'язаною з духовними цінностями нації.
