Young generations at work: security risks for the nation

Abstract

The issue of national security is undoubtedly highly complex and multifaceted. When attempting to develop a systematic understanding of the factors that influence national security, it is impossible to ignore factors such as the state of the labour market. National security depends to a large extent on the state of the labour market, as it is the labour market that ensures economic stability, social cohesion and the development of human potential. High employment reduces social tension, contributes to income growth and budget revenues, while unemployment, labour migration and informal employment undermine economic stability. Effective employment, education and retraining policies are strategic factors in strengthening national security.
