Екзистенційна природа вибору у драматичній поемі Лесі Українки «Бояриня»

Abstract

У статті розглядається «Боярина» Лесі Українки крізь антропоцентричну та екзистенційну призму, зосереджуючись на художньому зображенні особистого вибору як центрального механізму, що формує внутрішні конфлікти персонажів. Наукове дослідження досліджує, як зовнішній політичний та культурний тиск впливає на психологічний стан, ідентичність та моральну свободу персонажів. Особлива увага приділяється взаємодії між національним поневоленням та індивідуальною автономією, що розкриває трагічні виміри рішень персонажів. Аналіз демонструє, що мотив вибору функціонує не лише як рушійна сила наративу, а й як філософська категорія, що відображає ширші соціально-історичні напруження. Наукове дослідження сприяє глибшому розумінню екзистенційної природи свободи дій людини в українській модерністській драматургії. The article examines Lesya Ukrainka's "Boyaryna" through an anthropocentric and existential prism, focusing on the artistic depiction of personal choice as a central mechanism that shapes the characters' internal conflicts. The scientific investigation explores how external political and cultural pressure affects the psychological state, identity, and moral freedom of the characters. Special attention is paid to the interaction between national enslavement and individual autonomy, which reveals the tragic dimensions of the characters' decisions. The analysis demonstrates that the motive of choice functions not only as a driving force of the narrative, but also as a philosophical category that reflects broader socio- historical tensions. The scientific research contributes to a deeper understanding of the existential nature of human freedom of action in Ukrainian modernist drama.
