Пам’ять Другої світової війни в Україні як чинник меморіалізації російсько-української війни

Abstract

У статті міститься аналіз впливу пам’яті про Другу світову війну на формування в Україні сенсів та форматів меморіалізації сучасної російсько-української війни. Аналіз проведено на основі зрушень у вітчизняному наративному просторі та практиках комеморації, що зумовлює його актуальність. Методологія дослідження являє собою поєднання історичного, порівняльного та структурно-функціональний підходів. Автор аналізує зміни у царині політики пам’яті в Україні після 2014 р., зокрема її поступовий розрив із радянським наративом «Великої Вітчизняної війни» та переорієнтацію на європейське бачення подій війни 1939–1945 років. У статті показано, як повномасштабне вторгнення Росії в Україну у 2022 р. радикалізувало ці зрушення. У тексті викладено алюзії на Другу світову війну, які можна побачити у сучасних практиках меморіалізації: при спорудженні меморіалів та пам’ятників, у розвитку музейної справи та змінах календарю пам’ятних дат, в нормативних документах, публічній риториці тощо. Особлива увага приділена явищу гібридизації меморіалів, що поєднують пам’ять про героїв Другої світової та актуальної війни, зокрема, вояків УПА та сучасних захисників України. The article presents an analysis of the influence that the memory of the Second World War exerts on the development of memorialization of the current Russian-Ukrainian war in Ukraine. The analysis is based on shifts in the national narrative space and real commemorative practices. This explains its relevance. The research methodology combines historical, comparative, and structural-functional approaches. The author examines changes in Ukraine’s memory policy after 2014, particularly the gradual rupture with the Soviet narrative of «Great Patriotic War». The article demonstrates how Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 radicalized these shifts. The text outlines allusions to the Second World War visible in current Ukrainian memorialization practices: the construction of monuments and memorials, the development of museum institutions, changes in commemorative calendars, legal documents, and public rhetoric. Special attention is devoted to the phenomenon of hybrid memorials that combine remembrance of heroes of the Second World War and the current war – especially UPA fighters and today’s Ukrainian defenders. This memorial format reflects a symbolic continuity in Ukraine’s struggle for independence throughout the XX-XI centuries. The article also addresses challenges associated with the rethinking of Ukrainian participation in the fight against Nazism within the ranks of the Red (Soviet) Army. The author draws attention to the risks of marginalizing this topic in today’s Ukraine and emphasizes the need for a balanced memory policy. The article also raises the issue of the instrumentalization of the memory of the Second World War, which is occurring not only in Russian but also in Ukrainian memory politics. Particular attention is given to correlating these processes with European approaches to the memorialization of the Second World War, which is crucial in the context of Ukraine’s European integration.
