Abstract

Modern fashion is faced with the need to rethink its role in the context of the environmental crisis and overproduction. The response to these challenges has been the implementation of the principles of ethical fashion, which involves reducing harmful environmental impacts, fair working conditions and sustainable consumption patterns. Reuse-based clothing design is one of the effective strategies for sustainable development in the fashion industry. To clarify the scale of the problem, it is worth referring to statistics that demonstrate the significant environmental pressure of textile production. According to research, the textile industry is the second most harmful to the environment after the oil industry. Clothing production is associated with high water consumption, air and ocean pollution, as well as excessive waste. Сучасна мода стикається з необхідністю переосмислити свою роль у контексті екологічної кризи та перевиробництва. Відповіддю на ці виклики стало впровадження принципів етичної моди, що передбачає зменшення шкідливого впливу на навколишнє середовище, справедливі умови праці та стійкі моделі споживання. Дизайн одягу на основі повторного використання є однією з ефективних стратегій сталого розвитку в індустрії моди. Щоб прояснити масштаб проблеми, варто звернутися до статистики, яка демонструє значний тиск текстильного виробництва на навколишнє середовище. Згідно з дослідженнями, текстильна промисловість є другою за шкодою для навколишнього середовища після нафтової промисловості. Виробництво одягу пов'язане з високим споживанням води, забрудненням повітря та океану, а також надмірним утворенням відходів.
