Abstract: The relationship between language and culture is very close. The semantics of different national languages will have their unique national cultural colour. It adds an additional national cultural colour on the basis of reflecting the concept of meaning. Only when the national cultural background is combined can really understand the meaning of words. The teaching of Chinese as a foreign language is essentially the teaching of language. This thesis first compares the ethno-specified meaning of Chinese and English "dogs", the second chapter is through the learner, the teacher, and the teaching to analyze the influence of ethno-specified meaning differences between Chinese and English on the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language. The last chapter is based on comparative research to draw suggestions for teaching. It is expected to enable learners to further understanding of Chinese culture, master the ethno-specified words, and improve the communication skills. У статті проаналізовано етнічне значення китайського та англійського «собаки» в англійській та китайській мовах у викладанні китайської мови як іноземної.
