Bilingualism as a strategy for teaching the state language to preschool children within the multicultural space of Ukraine

Abstract

Тhe article is devoted to the strategic vectors of teaching the state language to preschool children within the multicultural space of Ukraine. The author defines the phenomenon “multicultural space” from different viewpoints: as a social integritywhich has absorbed multiethnicity, multilingualism, diversity of traditions, lifestyles and ways of thinking; as a certain set, palette of cultures and their representatives which are characterised by national consciousness, citizenship, the amount of ethnocultural knowledge, social activity; as a limited socio-cultural, communicative- multilingual space within which speakers of different nationalities co-live and cooperate, speak their native language, and, at the same time united by one (or more) state language, obey basic communicative laws and rules alongside regulations of interethnic communication. Стаття присвячена стратегічним векторам навчання дітей дошкільного віку державною мовою в полікультурному просторі України. Автор визначає феномен «мультикультурний простір» з різних позицій: як соціальну цілісність, що увібрала в себе багатонаціональність, багатомовність, розмаїття традицій, способів життя та способів мислення; як певна сукупність, палітра культур та їх представників, які характеризуються національною свідомістю, громадянськістю, обсягом етнокультурних знань, соціальною активністю; як обмежений соціокультурний, комунікативно-багатомовний простір, у якому співживуть і співпрацюють носії різних національностей, розмовляють рідною мовою і, водночас, об’єднані однією (або кількома) державною мовою, підкоряються основним комунікативним законам і правилам. поряд з правилами міжнаціонального спілкування.
