Abstract: The article deals with the problem of quality assurance of higher education in Ukraine. The author systematized the in formation about problems of pedagogical education in Ukraine. The most important factors that act like a brake on progress of higher school in our country were revealed in the article. Some ideas and views concerning the ways of improving educational activity in higher educational institutions in Ukraine were developed and formed. The carried out analysis allows us to state the following facts: the current system of education quality assessment is directed to the control, but not to the quality provi sion. On the other hand, there is a principle “More students – more money” in many higher educational institutions of Ukraine. Besides, there is the loss of teacher’s face, caused by weak material and professional motivation. There is also a di lemma of training “narrowly focused specialists” or “triple threat”; training specialists is focused on the opportunities of a higher educational institution, not on the marketing requirements. In addition to the above, the insufficient and improper train ing of applicants takes place in many cases, besides, the mismatch of the training teacher staff to progress and the poor materi al security of the academic activity become an extremely important problem of higher education in Ukraine nowadays. Sum marizing the views of specialists of this problem, we can conclude, that providing quality assessment of higher pedagogical education is a diversified process, the most important efficient factors of which are the following: resource availability (staff, financial, material, informational, scientific etc.), organization of the training process, which satisfies modern development tendencies of the national and international economics and education in the most adequate way; control of the educational activity of higher educational institutions and training quality of specialists at every stages and levels. У статті систематизовано інформацію щодо проблем забезпечення якості педагогічної освіти в Україні. Виділено найбільш вагомі, на думку автора, чинники стримування прогресу вищої школи в нашій державі. Сформовано уявлення щодо шляхів підвищення якості освітньої діяльності у вищих навчальних закладах країни.
