Abstract:	Повість «Тіні забутих предків» була написана Михайлом Коцюбинським у 1911 р. Автор написав її під враженням на час перебування у селі Криворівня. Його заворожили колорит села і традиції гуцульського народу, і цього було достатньо щоб під таким враженням написати цілу романтичну повість. Темою «Тіні забутих предків» є зображення тогочасного життя гуцулів, велике кохання, традицій і їх вірувань. The novel "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" was written by Mykhailo Kotsyubynsky in 1911. The author wrote it under the influence of his stay in the village of Kryvorivnya. He was fascinated by the color of the village and the traditions of the Hutsul people, and this was enough to write a whole romantic story under such an impression. The theme of "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" is an image of the life of the Hutsuls of that time, great love, traditions and their beliefs.
