Anthropological dimension of the forms of freedom

Abstract

This article considers anthropological dimensions of the forms of freedom in European political, philosophical and social studies. Specifics of the political anthropology as a paradigm of political and philosophical reflection has been clarified. Input of the Western and Eastern European civilisations into the development of anthropology has been substantiated. The author demonstrated that reference to human as center of political world is inherent tot Western tradition, whereas Eastern European tradition (including national) puts collective in the core of its studies. The author also defined key tendencies of the anthropological knowledge. Cooperation of human and politics, within which a person is seen in two dimensions – as a human and as a member of the society – had been analysed. The author also clarified the essence of the problem of human freedom in Ukrainian political and philosophical studies. Orientation of Ukrainian social and political thought of XIX – XX centuries mainly on collectivist ideas and values, where a standalone human usually has a secondary role, has also been defined. У цій статті розглядаються антропологічні виміри форм свободи в європейських політичних, філософських та соціальних дослідженнях. З'ясовано особливості політичної антропології як парадигми політико-філософської рефлексії. Обґрунтовано внесок західної та східноєвропейської цивілізацій у розвиток антропології. Автор продемонстрував, що посилання на людину як центр політичного світу є невід'ємною частиною західних традицій, тоді як східноєвропейська традиція (включаючи національну) ставить колектив в основу своїх досліджень. Автор також визначив ключові тенденції антропологічних знань. Було проаналізовано співпрацю людини та політики, в рамках якої людину розглядають у двох вимірах - як людину та як члена суспільства. Також автор з’ясував суть проблеми свободи людини в українських політичних та філософських студіях. Також було визначено орієнтацію української соціальної та політичної думки XIX - XX століть переважно на колективістські ідеї та цінності, де окрема людина, як правило, має другорядну роль.
