Abstract: The article represents the results of an empirical study of stress in students of higher educational institutions. It is determined that stress is an integral part of a student's life. It is an everyday phenomenon, a reaction to problems and to the endless process of dealing with everyday difficulties. Stress can be caused by factors related to work and study, events in personal life and so on. The situation with COVID-19 has a special impact, because students are forced to study distance, to narrow social contacts, to acquire knowledge on their own than in the usual mode of full-time study. The information boom about coronavirus infection and its spread in Ukraine and the world, Infodemia, has a special impact on everyone. The analysis of the results of the study showed the fact that the vast majority of students in the study groups have a satisfactory level of stress resistance. However, regarding the ways and means of overcoming stress, it has been found that a significant number of students do not have effective psychological methods of overcoming stress and they use mostly familiar activities accompanied by positive emotions: watching movies, sleeping, playing computer games, etc.
