The article examines the circumstances of the death of the 14th-century English noblewomen Alice of Norfolk. The author attempts to establish the approximate date of her death and reconstructs the main milestones of her life: birth, engagement, marriage, and death. The resulting portrait of the English noblewomen complements our understanding of the place of women in the medieval world. It is indicated that the Celtic civilization had an influence not only on the territory of the Ukrainian Carpathians, but also on the region of the Dnieper basin. Zarubinets and post-Zarubinets cultures should be considered as parts of the so-called “Celtic veil” (provincial La Tène culture). At the beginning of the new era, the ethnos of Central Ukraine was formed with the inclusion of Celtic ethnic elements.
