Основні принципи якісного викладання курсу дерматології та венерології студентам медичного університету

Abstract

У статті розглядаються питання надання якісної освіти студентам вищої медичної школи, висвітлю- ються основні питання викладання курсу дерматології та венерології студентам медичного університету,

підіймається питання виховання високоморального компетентного фахівця, здатного до самокритики та са- морозвитку, обговорюється необхідність наявності психологічних навичок у лікаря. Розкриваються головні

проблеми викладання студентам медичних вишів та шляхи їх подолання; розглядається актуальність перехо- ду від аудиторного до практичного навчання студентів-майбутніх лікарів. Упровадження нових освітніх ме- тодів є важливим аспектом у наданні державі грамотних конкурентоспроможних спеціалістів. The article deals with the issues of providing high-quality education to the students of higher medical educational institutions. The main problems of teaching dermatology and venereology to medical students are highlighted. The issue of educating a highly-moral competent professional, capable of self-criticism and self-development is substantiated. The

necessity of the development of psychological skills in medical students is proved. The main problems of teaching med- ical students and the ways of overcoming them are discussed. The urgency of the transition from the theoretical teach- ing to the practical training of future doctors is explained by the fact that most of medical university graduates are not

ready for the practical activities at hospitals. The implementation of new teaching methods is an important aspect of preparing highly-competent professionals. Unfortunately many students have undeveloped practical skills up to the

moment of their graduation from the university. Moreover very rarely the issues of medical ethics are properly hig- hlighted during lectures and practical training. Recently the ethical issues in Ukrainian medicine have become especial- ly relevant and urgent due to the cutbacks to funding, decreasing the number of social programs, commercialization of

the relations between doctors and patients. The influence of multinational pharmaceutical companies, which follow the laws of the free market, but not the Hippocratic principles, on medical practice has been growing. All these issues should be discussed with medical students in the process of their studying at a university. If these educational aspects of teaching are neglected, a medical university graduate, becoming an intern, is not professionally prepared for working with patients, because of his/her social immaturity, poor communication skills, lack of awareness of the level of his/her responsibility to patients and their relatives. Very often, especially in the periods of crisis, the fate of a patient depends

on the humanity, kindness and altruism of a doctor, his/her ability to manifest compassion and mercy. The most pro- found professional knowledge cannot compensate the lack of these qualities. Moreover, knowledge is not identical to

clinical thinking, which is considered as the ability to identify in each patient the most important symptoms and signs

for determining the diagnosis, to distinguish the most important things from the minor ones, to find hidden cause-and- effect relationship, to use the standard recommendations and therapeutic “schemes” in a unique way. A necessary con-dition of training qualified specialists is the understanding of the qualitative differences between teaching methods at clinical departments and the methods, which are commonly used by teachers of theoretical disciplines.
