«Журнал Министерства народного просвещения» про створення іменних благодійних стипендій

Abstract

У статті розглянуто історичні джерела, які містяться у номерах «Журнала Министерства народного просвещения» за 1877-1878 роки і присвячені проблемі створення іменних стипендій у сфері освіти. Особливу увагу приділено особистостям, на честь яких були започатковані стипендії. Досліджено джерела формування стипендіальних фондів. Аналіз розпоряджень про їх створення надає можливості розширити методологічну базу досліджень у сфері біографістики. А також більш об’єктивно оцінити масштаби громадської добродійності, її культурно-історичний вплив на формування системи народної освіти. The article deals with the historical sources contained in the numbers of the «Journal of the Ministry of Public Education» for 1877-1878 years and devoted to the issue of creating scholarships in the field of education. The «Journal of the Ministry of Education» is selected as the official publication of this agency. It was mentioned that the section «Government Orders» posted announcements on the creation of new scholarships. These materials of the education department are a valuable source for studying the development of various spheres of the school affairs of the nineteenth century. Their consideration provides opportunities for a more objective analysis of historical events. Therefore, the purpose of the article is to analyze issues related to the creation of a charitable contribution system and the formation of a scholarship fund in secondary and higher education institutions of the southern Russian empire in the second half of the nineteenth century. Special attention is paid to personalities who acted as philanthropists or in honor of which scholarships were launched. The sources of scholarship funds formation are investigated. It has been taken into consideration that the charitable work in the field of education, namely the launch of new personal scholarships, was considered to be extremely prestigious. An analysis of the regulations on the creation of nominal charity scholarships provides opportunities for expanding the methodological base of research in the field of biography. And also to objectively estimate the scale of public charity, its cultural and historical influence on the formation of the system of public education.
