Годинник як феномен технокультури та філософська метафора

Abstract

The relevance of the research topic is due to the fact that, despite the fact that in philosophy the category of "time" is one of the fundamental and, at the same time, the most uncertain and debatable, in practice people have always measured, counted and recorded time with various clocks. It was this cultural and practical activity that contributed to the emergence of "clock" metaphors in philosophical texts to explain and comprehend other (not directly related to time) categories and concepts. The purpose of the article is to identify and analyze philosophical metaphors related to watches as objects of technoculture. Basic research methods: analysis and synthesis, scientific abstraction, temporal analysis. The results of the study showed that the appeal of philosophy to the metaphors associated with the clock, due to the fact that the clock, especially those used in everyday life, are part of the world of things closest to man. These things, being both the result of technological progress and a product of decorative and applied arts, are not only part of human existence, but also serve as an indicator of cultural change at different stages of historical development. On the one hand, they are the result of these changes, on the other – they, to some extent, contribute to these changes by setting precedents, dictating cultural trends (or fashion), influencing the formation of new cultural meanings. This, in fact, explains the temporality between the development of watchmaking and the emergence of relevant philosophical metaphors. Changes in the principles of operation and design of watches changed the content of metaphors through which the world of people was understood: their place and role in society, perception of time, attitude to the world of things that people created and continue to create when forming a technocultural environment. This temporality is quite stable, which gives grounds to predict the emergence of new "clock" metaphors in philosophy with the emergence of new ways of counting time and, accordingly, new technical devices, their design and areas of cultural application. Актуальність теми дослідження зумовлена тим, що, незважаючи на те, що у філософії категорія «час» є однією з фундаментальних і, водночас, найбільш невизначених та дискусійних, на практиці люди завжди час вимірювали, відлічували та фіксували за допомогою різноманітних годинників. І саме ця культурно-практична діяльність сприяла появі у філософських текстах «годинникових» метафор задля пояснення та осмислення інших (не пов’язаних напряму із часом) категорій та концепцій. Мета статті – виявлення й аналіз філософських метафор, пов’язаних із годинниками як об’єктами технокультури. Основні методи дослідження: аналізу і синтезу, наукової абстракції, темпорального аналізу. Результати дослідження дозволили пояснити практику звернення філософії до метафор, пов’язаних із годинниками, тим, що годинники, особливо ті, що використовуються у повсякденні, є частиною світу речей, найбільш близьких до людини. Ці речі, будучи одночасно і результатом технічного прогресу і продуктом декоративно-ужиткового мистецтва, не лише є частиною людського буття, а й служать індикатором змін у культурі на різних етапах історичного розвитку. З одного боку, вони є результатом цих змін, з іншого – вони, певною мірою, цим змінам сприяють, створюючи прецеденти, диктуючи культурні тренди (або моду), впливаючи на формування нових культурних смислів. Цим, власне, і пояснюється виявлена темпоральність між розвитком годинникової техніки та появою відповідних філософських метафор. Зміни у принципах дії та дизайні годинників змінювали й зміст метафор, через які осмислювався світ людей: їх місце й роль у суспільстві, сприйняття часу, ставлення до світу речей, який люди створювали й продовжують створювати, формуючи навколо себе певне технокультурне середовище. Ця темпоральність є досить стійкою, що дає підстави прогнозувати появу нових «годинникових» метафор у філософії з появою нових способів відліку часу і, відповідно, нових технічних пристроїв, їх дизайну та сфер культурного застосування.
