Abstract

Елізе Реклю був самостійним і різнобічним мислителем, ворогом релігійних та соціальних примусів, заснованих, на його думку, на забобонах і угодах, які не мають філософської цінності. У своїх творах він розвинув цілий комплекс ідей, що виходили за рамки чисто географічних досліджень. Реклю виклав концепцію «фізичної географії», що базується на ідеї гармонії між людиною, Землею і космосом. Життя мешканців нашої планети визначають природні умови – клімат і ґрунт, особливості конкретної місцевості. В процесі історичного розвитку змінюються відносини людини з природою. Сучасні люди, творці індустріальної цивілізації, віддають перевагу силі, а не красоті, та перетворять Землю відповідно до власних уявлень і потреб. В результаті пер- винна гармонія людини і природи порушується, що може призвести до серйозних проблем в житті людства в загальноісторичному масштабі. Необхідно повернути Землі красу, пізнавати її, керуючись принципами любові, а не насильницького перетворення. Це можливо тільки шляхом виховання, яке розвине моральне почуття людей і приведе їх до гармонії одна з одною і з природою. Людська солідарність, на думку Реклю, – єдиний спосіб покласти край економічній та соціальній нерівності, а це, в свою чергу, допоможе людству перейти в своєму русі від історичних циклів до справжньої еволюції. Elise Reclus was an independent and versatile thinker, an enemy of religious and social coercion, based, in his opinion, on prejudices and agreements that do not have philosophical value. In his writings he developed a whole set of ideas that went beyond purely geographical research. Reclus laid out the concept of «physical geography», based on the idea of harmony between man, Earth and the cosmos. The life of the inhabitants of our planet is determined by natural conditions – climate and soil, particular terrain. In the process of historical development changes the relationship between man and nature. Modern people, the creators of industrial civilization, prefer the power of beauty and trans- form the Earth in accordance with their own ideas and needs. As a result the primary harmony between man and nature is violated, which is fraught with serious problems in the life of mankind on an all-historical scale.It is necessary to restore the beauty to the Earth, to learn it, guided by the principles of love, and not by a violent transformation. This is possible only through education, which will develop the moral sense of people and lead them to harmony with each other and with nature. Human solidarity, according to Reclus, is the only way to put an end to economic and social inequality, and this, in turn, will help mankind move in its movement from historical cycles to true evolution.
