Title: Вплив екстралінгвістичних факторів на якість перекладу термінології англійських текстів суспільно-політичної тематики українською мовою Authors: Чумаченко, Костянтин; Пальонова, Ганна; Нагірняк, Ганна Abstract: У статті встановлено, що найбільшу зацікавленість у плані порівняння та перекладу викликає аналіз мовних одиниць англійської та української мов на екстралінгвістичному рівні з точки зору їхньої семантичної структури та культурного значення. В межах проведеного дослідження авторами виявлені екстралінгвістичні аспекти, перекладацькі засоби та методи передачі інформації, до яких перекладач вдається, працюючи з суспільно-політичним текстом. В ході дослідження встановлено, що особливість суспільно-політичного перекладу полягає у тому, щоб передати та показати засоби передачі інформації, до яких перекладач вдається у суспільно-політичному тексті, в якому на перший план висувається не проста передача або який не розглядається з точки зору його естетичної цінності, а де розкривається аксіологічний аспект його змісту. Адже успіх тексту визначається тим, наскільки ефективно використовуються в перекладі мовні засоби впливу і наскільки текст відповідає прийнятим в іншому мовному колективі нормам масової комунікації. Автори дійшли висновку, що будь-який переклад, орієнтований на передачу лише змісту суспільно-політичного тексту та ігноруючий необхідність забезпечити його культурну адаптацію, у принципі не може бути визнаний адекватним. Підводячи підсумки, зазначимо, що при перекладі суспільно-політичних термінів необхідно використовувати певні прийоми. Шляхом аналізу авторами виявлено, що основними перекладацькими трансформаціями для якісного перекладу суспільно-політичних термінів є: калькування, транслітерація / транскрипція, описовий переклад, функціональна заміна. This article has established that the analysis of the linguistic units of the English and Ukrainian languages at the extralinguistic level from the point of view of their semantic structure and cultural significance is of the greatest interest in terms of comparison and translation. Within the framework of the study, the authors identified extralinguistic aspects, translation means and methods of transferring information, which the translator uses when working with a sociopolitical text. In the course of the study, it was established that the peculiarity of socio-political translation is to convey and show the means of transmission of information, which the translator uses in a socio-political text, in which not a simple transmission is highlighted or which is not considered from the point of view of its aesthetic values, and where the axiological aspect of its content is revealed. After all, the success of a text is determined by how effectively language means of influence are used in translation and how an advanced text meets the norms of mass communication adopted in another language community. The authors concluded that any translation focused on conveying only the content of a socio-political text and ignoring the need to ensure its cultural adaptation, in principle, cannot be recognized as adequate. Summing up, we will indicate that when translating socio-political terms, it is necessary to use certain techniques. By means of analysis, the authors revealed that the main translation transformations for high-quality translation of socio-political terms are: tracing, transliteration and transcription, descriptive translation, functional replacement.

Title: Способи відтворення лінгвокультурних особливостей англомовних політичних промов українською мовою Authors: Сюренко, Оксана; Волкова, Аліна; Поперечна, Аліна Abstract: Стаття присвячена дослідженню способів відтворення лінгвокультурних особливостей англомовних політичних промов українською мовою. Актуальність роботи зумовлена малою кількістю робіт з вивчення відтворення лінгвокультурних особливостей українською мовою англомовних політичних промов та текстів і відтворення його контекстуальних значень з урахуванням стилістичних характеристик тексту. Метою дослідження є проведення комплексного аналізу лінгвокультурних факторів англомовного політичного дискурсу, виявлення способів передачі лінгвокультурних маркованих одиниць в українському перекладі на матеріалі промов політичних лідерів США та Великобританії. За результатами дослідження було виявлено, що для досягнення адекватності перекладачеві необхідно використовувати численні перекладацькі трансформації, тому що перекладач намагається донести думку, подану мовою оригіналу, зберігаючи її первинний смисл та форму. Але варто відмітити, що такий переклад не завжди можливий, адже системи англійської та української мов розрізняються у певних аспектах, тому перекладач має знаходити альтернативні способи передачі тексту. Найпоширенішою трансформацією серед згаданих є калькування, адже терміни та вирази, вжиті політиками у текстах їхніх промов, мають словникові відповідники у мові перекладу та не становлять труднощів при виборі еквівалента. Досить поширеними є також транскодування й заміна частин мови, що допомагають досягти адекватності перекладу. Предметом дослідження є способи відтворення лінгвокультурних особливостей англомовних політичних промов українською мовою. Під час аналізу ми визначили, що в процесі перекладу сам перекладач повинен володіти «культурною компетенцією», тобто знанням чужої культури, аби виявити в тексті специфіку культури. Успіх перекладу як лінгвокультурної трансляції багато в чому залежить від розуміння імпліцитно виражених у тексті смислів, заснованих на культурних цінностях; вміння правильно вибрати лінгвістичні засоби для передачі повідомлення з метою досягнення впливу перекладу, рівноцінного впливу оригіналу. The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the ways of reproducing the linguistic and cultural features of English-language political speeches in the Ukrainian language. The relevance of the work is due to the small number of works in the study of the reproduction of linguistic and cultural features of the Ukrainian language of English-language political speeches and texts, as well as the reproduction of its contextual meanings, taking into account the stylistic characteristics of the text. The aim of the study is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the linguistic and cultural factors of the English-language political discourse, to identify ways of transmitting linguocultural labeled units in Ukrainian translation based on the material of political speeches of political leaders of the United States and Great Britain. According to the results of the study, it was revealed that in order to achieve the adequacy of the translator, it is necessary to use numerous translation transformations, since the interpreter tries to convey the idea presented in the original language, preserving its original meaning and form. But that such a translation is not always possible, because the systems of English and Ukrainian languages differ in some aspects, so the interpreter must find alternative ways to transmit the text. The most common transformation among those mentioned above is calque, because the terms and expressions adopted by politicians in the texts of their speeches have dictionary correspondences in the translation language and do not make difficulties in choosing an equivalent. Transcoding and replacement of parts of speech that help to achieve the adequacy of translation are also quite common. The subject of the study is the ways of reproducing the linguistic and cultural features of English-language political speeches in Ukrainian. During the analysis, we determined that in the process of translation, the interpreter himself must have «cultural competence», in order to identify the specifics of culture in the text. The success of translation as a linguocultural translation largely depends on the understanding of the meanings implicitly expressed in the text based on cultural values; the ability to choose the right linguistic means to convey a message in order to achieve the influence of translation, equivalent to the impact of the original.

Колороніми досліджуються як лінгвістичні одиниці, що відзначаються високим ступенем адаптивності та варіативності залежно від досвіду та картини світу автора. Номінації кольору також аналізуються як культурні символи, носії певної ментальності та експресивності. Тема дослідження є актуальною з позиції функціонально-комунікативному підходу до перекладу У роботі досліджуються різні типи англійських колоронімів та особливості їх відтворення у перекладі українською мовою. Дослідження провадилось на матеріалі оповідань «Кульбабове вино» Рея Бредбері та «Великий Ґетсбі» Френсіса Скотта Фіцджеральда. Колороніми реалізуються в художніх творах на лінгвістичному, екстралінгвістичному та культурному рівнях. Було підтверджено наявність символічного значення колоронімів у художніх текстах. Наявність асоціативного зв’язку з метальністю та світоглядом автора засвідчує релевантність символів для художнього перекладу. Було зроблено висновок про важливість адекватного відтворення колоронімів для якості перекладу. Задля збереження стилістичної специфіки вихідного твору, зокрема у частині відтворення колоронімів, перекладачі використовують влучні перекладацькі операції відповідно до обраної стратегії комунікативно рівноцінного перекладу. Серед перекладацьких операцій значне місце посідають перекладацькі трансформації. Перспектива вбачається у подальшому дослідженні колоронімів на іншому мовному матеріалі та в інших індоєвропейських мовах. The article has been devoted to the description of colour names in the aspect of their functioning in belles-lettres style and their adequate rendering in artisic translation from English into Ukrainian. Nominations of colour have been investigated as linguistic units with semantic sustainability, high adaptiveness, and variability depending on the author’s cultural background and experience. Colour names have been studied as linguistic and cultural symbols, charged by certain mentality and expressiveness. The topic of the research is up-to-date in the paradigm of the functional-communicative approach to translation. In the focus of the research there are various types of colour names and the peculiarities of rendering English colour names in Ukrainian translation. The research is done on the basis of the long short stories “Dandelion Wine” by Ray Bradbury and “The Great Gatsby” by Francis Scott Fitzerald. The colour names’ semantics is realized in belles-lettres texts on linguistic, extralinguistic and cultural levels. It has been proved that colour names often have symbolic meaning in artistic texts. Being associated with the author’s mentality and world outlook, symbols are relevant for artistic translation in general. Thus, it has been resumed that adequate rendering of colour names is essential for faithful translation. To preserve scientific specificity of the source text, in particular in the aspect of redering the semantics of colour names, translators employ proper translation operations according to the chosen translation strategy of the communicatively relevant translation. Translation transformations are the most widely distributed among other operations at work. The perspective is seen in further investigation of colour names on the different linguistic material and in other Indo-European languages.

Title: Поетична інтерпретація поняття душі в німецькомовній повоєнній ліриці ХХ століття Authors: Романова, Наталя Abstract: Термінологічна невизначеність поняття душі в психології зумовлює необхідність подальшого всебічного аналізу його вербалізації з використанням новітніх методів, орієнтованих на проникнення в механізми національної мовної творчості. Актуальність дослідження визначаємо й загальною спрямованістю сучасної лінгвопоетики на розгляд семантики художнього тексту в площині ментальних і психічних процесів, що дає змогу уточнити характер взаємодії між мовою та мисленням, між мовою та емоційною сферою особистості. Метою наукової розвідки є з’ясування семантичного наповнення поняття душі в німецькомовній повоєнній ліриці ХХ століття. У статті розкрито поняття Seele «душа», окреслено його синоніми, відображено лексичні засоби реалізації в текстовій тканині, простежено й співвіднесено географію, гендерний чинник та логіко-семантичні підходи до тлумачення природи душі, виокремлено та проаналізовано семантичні підгрупи, що позначають феномен. За допомогою кількісних показників встановлено «типову», «перехідну» й «нетипову» поетичну інтерпретацію. «Типова» поетична інтерпретація ґрунтується на індексі 3 і вище, «перехідна» має індекс 2, «нетипова» — індекс 1. Типовими підходами є філософський, психологічний, культурологічний та інтегрований (комбінований), перехідними постають космогонічний, релігійний, біологічний та науковий, нетиповими визнаємо сакральний підхід. Доведено етнічну, культурну й гендерну розбіжності в трактуванні душі, а також енциклопедичність поглядів поеток і поетів ФРН, селективність (вибірковість) поеток і поетів НДР, Австрії, Швейцарії, периферійність (нехтування) — поеток і поетів Люксембургу. Отримані висновки є суттєвими для з’ясування специфіки національної концептосфери певної культури та типів варіантних мовних відповідників у ході відтворення спільного етнокультурного змісту. Terminological uncertainty of the concept of the soul in psychology necessitates further comprehensive analysis of its verbalization using the latest methods aimed at penetrating the mechanisms of national language creativity. The relevance of the study is determined by the general focus of modern linguistic poetics on the semantics of the literary text in the plane of mental processes, which allows to clarify the nature of the interaction between language and thinking, between language and emotional personality. The purpose of summarized scientific research is to clarify the semantic content of the concept of the soul in the German-language postwar lyrics of the twentieth century. The article reveals the concept of Seele “soul”, outlines its synonyms, reflects the lexical means of realization in the text fabric, traces and correlates geography, gender and logical-semantic approaches to interpreting the nature of the soul, identifies and analyzes semantic subgroups that denote the phenomenon. Quantitative indicators establish a “typical”, “transitional” and “atypical” poetic interpretation. “Typical” poetic interpretation is based on the index “3” and above, “transitional” has the index “2”, “atypical” — the index “1”. Typical approaches are philosophical, psychological, cultural and integrated (combined), transitional are cosmogonic, religious, biological and scientific, atypical are the sacred approach. The ethnic, cultural and gender differences in the interpretation of the soul, as well as the encyclopedic views of poets of Germany, the selectivity Nosenko of poets of the GDR, Austria, Switzerland, outlying (neglect) of poets of Luxembourg are proved. The obtained conclusions are essential for clarifying the specifics of the national conceptosphere of a certain culture and the types of variant language equivalents in the course of reproduction of the common ethnocultural content.
